Seventh Grade - Getting Through
For this piece, seventh graders each chose something that helped them to get through this past year. They took a photograph of their chosen item (or in some cases person or pet) and uploaded it into one of our art apps. They used the app to outline and abstract the image, duplicating it many times. Then they filled the image with shades of grey. The images were then collaged together into this final piece. Students had a chance to express hope and comfort through this artwork. They were also given the opportunity to recognize and process what a hard year it’s been. Some of the things that helped them “get through” are: friends, sports, art, video games, books, taking care of plants and music. Framed Dimensions: 24.75”x 36.5”
